Week 9

Thursday 2nd March

Week Nine. Judgement Night. One of the defining moments of the Betway Premier League.

Two superstars will be eliminated from the competition. Who will stay and who will go? Expect a roaring atmosphere in Manchester as the top ten gets whittled down to eight.

Debutant Kim Huybrechts has failed to make an impact this year and all but confirmed to be leaving the competition early, going into the Judgement Night two pints adrift, but who else will feel the trapdoor open beneath their feet?

Stephen Bunting, Adrian Lewis, Peter Wright and 2014 defending champion Raymond van Barneveld are still all at risk. It’s every man for themselves as the fight for survival reaches its climax.

Betway Premier League Rewind: Last year in Manchester…

Week 12 – Thursday 24 April 2014

Last season, Manchester’s Phones4U Arena hosted Week 12 of the Premier League. It saw eventual finalists Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld put one foot into the playoffs with victories over Dave Chisnall and Adrian Lewis.

The then World Number 1 came back from 4-3 down to win 7-4, while his Dutch compatriot breezed past Chizzy in a dominant performance, averaging 104 and bagging an 11-darter to seal victory and extend his unbeaten run to 11 matches.

Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor also extended his own unbeaten run to seven matches as he shared the spoils with Gary Anderson. It was a result that kept him in front of the Scot and still in the top four.

However, a night that ended in jubilance for some, ended in disappointment for others. Robert Thornton played twice in Week 12 but saw his top four hopes evaporate as he lost 7-5 in the opening match of the night to Peter Wright and then drew 6-6 in the final match to Anderson.
