The Leagues Cup is down to four teams. On Tuesday, the semifinals will be played ahead of Saturday’s showdown.

Inter Miami

Inter Miami are in the last four and will be hoping for their first silverware with their new recruits. Lionel Messi has been in fine form for the Florida side, scoring eight goals in five games. Due to the form of Messi and the addition of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba, nobody write off Tata Martino’s men this week.

Messi scored on his Miami with a goal against Cruz Azul. He followed that up with a brace against Atlanta United, another brace against Orlando City in the Florida derby, and scored two more in the game against FC Dallas.

On Friday, he capped a 4-0 win over Charlotte FC with the fourth goal of the game as Miami booked their place in the semifinals of the Leagues Cup.

The team coached by Jim Curtin, have reached the semifinal stage after eliminating New York Red Bulls in the round of 16 on penalties. They then defeated Querétaro in the quarterfinals.

In MLS, they are in third place with a 22-point gap over Inter Miami, who are currently last.
